Resource Use Rights agreement

If you have found a resource(s) that you want to use, then all you need do is to request a Resource Use Rights agreement.
The As-Built Learning Exchange (ABLE) Resource Use Rights agreement recognises that the Open Exchange resources you are asking to use are likely to have been developed with support of other Project Contributors.
The conditions of use and the expiry date of this agreement highlight that ABLE resources are technically based and typically only valid for the BCA edition nominated on the resource. Existing resources will only be updated when there is Project Contributor support.
The Resource Use Rights agreement only applies for these User Classifications:
- Building company.
- Designer or design practice.
- Draftsperson or drafting practice.
- Energy assessor or energy assessment practice.
- Building surveyor or building surveying practice.
The Resource Use Rights agreement only applies for:
- Users who are resident in Western Australia or who are operating in Western Australia, on
- Building work undertaken in Western Australia, that
- Comply with the National Construction Code Volume Two: Building Code of Australia (BCA) for Class 1 and 10 Buildings.
The User agrees that the resources nominated in the schedule below will:
- Only be used for documenting and/or undertaking building work, and
- Not be used for training, promotion or other purposes, and
- Not be sold, traded or otherwise distributed, and
- Only be used by Building Professionals.
In choosing to request a Resource Use Rights agreement, the User agrees that:
- ABLE is authorised to represent them as a user of ABLE resources, and
- Intellectual property rights and copyright ownership for any resource, regardless of any changes or amendments that are made, remains with ABLE, and
- They accept the Conditions of Use and any additional conditions of use that may be nominated on a resource, and
- ABLE has the right to decline their request, and
- This agreement expires on 1 May of the year nominated in the agreement schedule and it is their responsibility to renew their agreement.
Users who agree to the above are invited to download, complete and then return their agreement to ABLE. ABLE will then confirm that their request is accepted.
Individuals or entities that do not fit the nominated conditions are asked to contact ABLE to discuss an agreement that is tailored to their intended use.
